We’re excited to announce the addition of two new Rotaract Districts to Rotaract Australia. Districts 9600 and 9700 were recently accepted as signatories to our organisation.
Despite a strong presence of Rotaract in the wider Brisbane area, the Rotaract Club of Brisbane CBD is at this stage the only club in 9600 and was chartered in March 2015. District Rotaract Representative (DRR) David Brand has long been a supporter of Rotaract Australia and is targeting the establishment of new clubs during his year.
DRR of 9700 Will Wood, like David, has extensive Rotaract experience across multiple districts. Will is incoming Charter President for Griffith Rotaract, chartering in June 2015, and will be the first club in the District.
The Board of Directors of Rotary International, the General Secretary acting on its behalf, authorised the Districts 9600 and 9700 to participate in Rotaract activities on a multidistrict level and join the Rotaract Australia Multi District Information Organisation (MDIO) representing Districts 9455, 9465, 9500, 9520, 9550, 9570, 9600, 9630, 9640, 9670, 9675, 9685, 9700, 9710, 9780, 9790, 9800, 9810, 9820 and 9830.
The Rotaract Australia MDIO is now made up of 20 of the 21 Districts in the country, with 9650 yet to establish a Rotaract Club.
“We’re really excited to have all of the Districts with Rotaract Clubs as signatories to the MDIO. It makes for a great opportunity to leverage all Districts through our ongoing national projects and events.”
The Rotaract Australia Council, made up of the Rotaract Australia Board and the DRRs, meet every two months to discuss projects, events, new clubs and broader opportunities.
