Rotaract Club: Sydney City Rotaract, District 9675

Rotaract History: I started out at Rotaract UNSW in 2007, taking on lots of roles including President. I joined SCR in 2012. I have been DRR and held Rotary roles at District level, and with some of the New Generations Programs. I was elected Secretary of Rotaract Australia in 2012 and instigated RotarACTION AU magazine & our partnership with Movember.

Nickname: Goda, Derek

Anything fun away from Rotaract? I play a lot of cricket. I have been married to Bec since 2013 and we’re building a house!

Something unique about you? I have a 1963 Mini, inspired by Mr. Bean

Rotaract History: I joined Rotaract in March 2009 at University of Wollongong RAC. I have held the roles of Vice President, President, Secretary, District Rotaract Representative and District Social Media Chair

How about work? I am a tutor and PhD Candidate at the University of Wollongong

Anything fun away from Rotaract? Pop culture geek

Something unique about you? My wife and I both talked about our favourite television shows in our individually written vows, which were secret until the ceremony.

Rotaract History: I joined Rotaract in 2011 and have served two terms as Treasurer for Rotaract Australia, two terms as DRR, 2 as District Treasurer. I was a Sydney 2014 Rotaract Host Committee members, conference & training presenter, District RYLA and international RYLA facilitator, and charter member Lower North Shore Rotaract.

How about work? Management Consultant with PwC

Anything fun away from Rotaract? Not much time between work and Rotaract, but perhaps, cooking, photography and partying

Something unique about you? I’ve won Rotaract games twice – 2012 with Lower North Shore Rotaract and 2015 with Blue Steel

Rotaract Club: Peninsula Rotaract Club in Frankston, District 9820

Rotaract History: I was a charter member of Peninsular Rotaract in 2010 and have served as Club Social Director, Secretary & President. I am currently DRR for 9820.

How about work? I have a BSc. and have just finished my Masters of Secondary Teaching (Science & Biology). I’m currently working for a textbook company and tutoring on the side.

Anything fun away from Rotaract? I like to play netball, go the gym, and read.

Something unique about you? I recently started aerial hoop dancing classes

Public Relations & Marketing Director

Rotaract Club: Macquarie University Rotaract

Rotaract History: I joined Mac Uni Rotaract in 2009 and have served as Secretary, Events & Vice President, along with a role as Secretary on the District board. This is my second term as PR & Marketing Director for Rotaract Australia.

How about work?  I’m a Graduate Processing Engineer for BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA). I work in the CHPP (Coal Handling and Preparation Plant) at Blackwater Mine.

Anything fun away from Rotaract? I like doing yoga and learning different styles of dance

Something unique about you? I’m a Morris dancer (English folk dancing) and have performed in Wales, New Zealand, and folk festivals around Australia.
