Our space, the night of all nights!,
An exposition and celebration of everything Rotaract.
On Saturday August 1st 2015, Rotaract District 9800 hosted ‘our space’, a changeover like no other, an event that showcased young inspiring adults making a difference in both local and international communities. ‘Our space’ held at the North Melbourne meat market with the collaboration of Swinburne, Gateway, Bayside and Melbourne city Rotaract clubs was about presenting the clubs, their members and their past, present and future projects and activities. Excitement was in the air as the night opened with presenting the very prestigious Paul Harris fellow award to PDRR Grant Godino for his hard work and dedication to Rotaract and Rotary. As the 150 attendees including Rotaractors, Rotarians and guests from all districts around Victoria tucked into the delicious food the festivities began. Rotary project shelter box displayed information about the project inside a large and fully extended and upright tent inside the great meat market hall and other Rotary projects such as RYPEN and RYLA made a fantastic display, including the refreshing drinking water out of Rotary’s Aquabox. As the popcorn machine continued to pop Rotaract District 9800 introduced the four club presidents and their club vision for 2015/16. As the DJ played his music and the Photo Booth continued to shoot guests in their fantastic outfits information was shared about the work of Rotaract and Rotary and how it opens doors to opportunity and service to others. The night received strong support from the attendees of the past, present and future Rotary District governors. Also along with that support the night had great sponsorship from Mountain Goat Breweries, Melbourne Storm, The Melbourne Stars, The Melbourne Aces, The Langham hotel Melbourne, N&M catering and party hire, Gym on Grimshaw and Self centred Medi spa. Our Space was an event that captured amazing moments of Rotaract and Rotary and created a night full of fun and inspiration.
