Statement on the Voice

In line with Rotary International’s statement on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), we believe that exemplifying and embracing DEI should be a part of everything we do at Rotary and Rotaract.

Listening to and acknowledging diverse perspectives on key community issues is a respected and time-honoured part of the tradition of Rotaract.

As young leaders, we are empowered to create positive and lasting change in ourselves and our local and global communities.

We believe in not just imagining, but actively creating, a more diverse, inclusive and equitable world.

Rotaract Australia is committed to creating a better future for all, by recognising the thousands of years of culture and tradition of our Indigenous and First Nations peoples.

We respect the differing opinions on the Voice, including among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Most importantly, we are and remain open to listening to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We invite you to have respectful and sometimes difficult conversations with our friends and family.

Rotaract Australia is a non-partisan organisation, but we always work to understand and help address issues that impact our communities.

This is a social issue to ensure all Australians are able to equitably participate in our society. History is calling and we encourage you to educate yourself and talk about all issues that impact our communities.
